1.) What is the reason you’re taking supplements?
To increase my healthspan — to be healthy for as long as possible.
2.) What are the current supplements you’re taking? Just list them!
3.) What’s the most recent supplement you’ve recently added? Why? Have you noticed a difference since you added it?
I only started taking Iodine a few months ago. I take it because I have a theory — based on zero evidence — that I’m at risk for being iodine deficient. For example, my mother has some thyroid issues, and I’m a bit hypochondriac about the symptoms. Knowing also that iodine is one of the most common elements that most Americans lack (same reason I take magnesium) has led to supplement with J. Crow.
4.) Are there any supplements that you used to take but you stopped? Why did you remove it? Did you notice an improvement after removing it?
I used to take reservatrol, but seeing recent evidence that it’s not likely effective led me to stop using it.
5.) What’s the most unexpected or surprising or least-common supplement you’re currently taking? Why are you taking this one?
Royal Jelly. It’s likely irrational and not helpful, but I like the traditional “old wives tales” – I place (probably undue) support in traditional remedies and health strategies.
